Auction Listing Structure
- Start price (can be £0)
- Optional reserve price
Bidding Rules
- Bids increase in £100 increments
- Example: If current top bid is £500, you must bid £600 or more
Maximum Bid System
- Bidding higher than the minimum increment sets your maximum bid
- Current high bid only increases by the minimum increment
- Example:
- Current high bid: £600
- Your maximum bid: £1500
- New high bid: £700
- Other bidders must exceed £1500 to outbid you
Reserve Price Auctions
- Maximum bid must exceed reserve to start £100 increments
- Example:
- Reserve price: £2000
- Your maximum bid: £1500
- Result: You’re highest bidder but haven’t won the auction
Automatic Bidding
- System automatically increases your bid up to your maximum
- Stops when your maximum is reached or exceeded by another bidder
